National Agricultural Youth Show welcomes you!

Agricultural societies in South Africa recognised the need to involve schoolchildren in the agricultural sector, leading to the establishment of the National Agricultural Youth Society in 1999. The primary aim of the society is to cultivate an affinity for agriculture among young people, create opportunities for participation in agricultural extracurricular activities, develop a range of skills, and encourage teamwork.

Our mission

To change the way young people in South Africa think about agriculture, encouraging their involvement through interests, life skills, careers and entrepreneurship, and promoting active participation in youth shows and other activities.

Goals/objectives

The National Agricultural Youth Show aims to cultivate a strong interest in agriculture among young people by creating opportunities for learners to participate in agricultural activities beyond the classroom. Through these experiences, the initiative supports the development of a wide range of skills, promotes teamwork, and encourages self-paced learning. It also seeks to provide new and enjoyable agricultural experiences while recognising and rewarding achievement. Ultimately, the programme strives to stimulate innovation and inspire entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector from an early age.
